Curved buildings often feel more desirable and look more interesting, and from a structural engineering perspective the absence of sharp angles enhances their structural stability and helps buildings optimise the penetration of natural light, creating a luminous and inviting ambience within their enclosed spaces. We were appointed as structural engineers for this extension to create a stunning curved structure for a pool and gym area.
Constructed using glulam timber, the extension features a green roof and is partially buried into the ground, blending seamlessly with the natural landscape. This innovative design not only adds functionality but also enhances the property’s eco-friendly appeal. The project was showcased on Extraordinary Extensions hosted by Tinie Tempah, highlighting its architectural creativity and sustainable approach.
